Running is Peace, The Creed

The first time I saw this New Balance ad, I was mesmerized. It resonates perfectly with my experience of a state of mind that cannot be more aptly described as peace. Seasoned runners will know what I’m talking about. Proud to be a runner.

My Fair Lady

Kate showing off her polka dot skirt.

As I write this, she is 3 years 4 months 4 days old. I have to remind myself every now and then this precocious girl was not too long ago a toddler capable of only loud cries, innocent chuckle, and other unfeigned emotions.

Now, I couldn’t even get her to change into her pyjamas, finish her meal or pack up her cluttered toys without a protracted argument.

Here I am, flipping through some of the photos we have taken over the years. It’s amazing really, seeing how stupendously she has changed.

Borders Fire Sale

I was wondering when this would happen. Finally, the news broke. Borders flagship store at Wheelock Place, Orchard has officially closed down. Inevitably a firesale to dispose its inventories followed. I was there to witness the pandemonium.

With all items 50% off, the place was packed. No surprise there.

Brand new fiction/non-fiction titles, stationery, everything at half price. The selection is I feel on par with Big Bad Wolf Sale in Malaysia

The payment queue was absurdly long. In the end, I walked away empty handed solely because I could not bear waiting for hours to pay. The experience truly opened my eyes to the formidable Singaporeans whose tolerance for snaky queue lines is without match.
