The association of ‘kebocoran’ with the physiological cycle of female menstruation is at best LEWD, PERVERTED, OBSCENE and outright HUMILIATING! How could they, being Member of Parliaments and surely persons of respectable stature, not to mention God-fearing female-is-sacred muslims, utter such irresponsible remarks and still be let off the hook, safe in the haven of impunity (again!)?
These are exactly the kind of remarks that would instigate one’s sense of righteousness, regardless of his or her racial, political and cultural backgrounds. To analogize the perforation in the plumbering system of a building structure directly to the very femininely defined function of a woman’s hormonal cycle with its periodic fruition is plainly WRONG.
One can only imagine what vile and salacious images these degenerate MPs conjure up in their mind when they manufacture the analogy. Or is this what they habitually do or say to their wives and daughter, asking them if they have had their monthly ‘kebocoran’ or worse still if the leakage copious, ‘tumpas sama sekali’?
If as a caring, sound-minded Malaysian, you are not rendered aghast by the above assertion, then it’s both unbecoming and unfortunate that we should be celebrating the 50th Hari Merdeka come August. Why care if you don’t possess even a modicum of respect for the dignity of womanhood?
The proprietor of this blog strongly denounces those sexist remarks and urges all Malaysians to stand behind Po Kuan in condemnation of such derogatory comments.
Update: There will be a couple of protest campaigns taking place at Lim Kit Siang’s contituency in Ipoh Timur on Saturday night (12 May 2007) and also Po Kuan’s constituency in Batu Gajah on Sunday night (13 May 2007).
Go and extend your support, make this Mother’s day a meaningful one. Women are no punching bags for witless, senseless and mindless politicians.
