The impasse is officially resolved. I am now the proud owner of a shiny black Toyota Vios! Seeing for himself the Proton wreckage, has probably send a tingling chill up the car salesman’s spine and a tiny morsel of compassion manifested as a result. He agreed to accept cash in lieu of the Proton. Not long after that, I received the good news that ‘total lost’ claim is settled by my insurance company and I am to be granted a RM6000 check for the lost. What a week, albeit one with a lot of tribulations!
Spent the better part of this morning washing and waxing the auto beauty. The air was cool and calm. Seeing the bulk of my 2-day old Vios, I was in a lifting mood. I gathered the water hose, pail, rags and a bottle of car washing shampoo and was ready to roll in no time.
I was surprised at how easy and leisurely the task went. I suppose watching the black sedan shimmering in the porch as I give it a wash has a way of rendering the task less of a chore than it would be.
